  1. What is PeopleSoft HRMS?

Ans: PeopleSoft HRMS is used to carry out all the HR tasks. It is a table-based system that stores an organization’s data. It enables users to get access to critical information while maintaining data accuracy and integrity. It is based on PeopleSoft’s Pure Internet Architecture (PIA). We can manage tasks from recruitment to retirement while enforcing goals and objectives.

2. What are checklists? How can you create a checklist?

Ans: A checklist is a utility that an HR can use to note all the tasks and ensure that they are done. We can create checklists for new joiners, transfers, contractors, etc., and assign it to a person. To create a checklist, go to Setup HRMS -> Common Definitions -> Checklists -> Checklist and select the type of checklist.

Contingent – A contingent is a contract worker who is not on the company payroll. A contingent worker’s personal information and job information is stored in HRMS.

7. What is a control table in Peoplesoft HRMS?

Ans: When a transaction is entered into the PeopleSoft application, the accounting structure and processing rules will be stored in control tables. Control tables store master lists information like customers, vendors, products, country, and location. Each entry in the control table is stored with a set identifier named as ‘SetID’.

8. Explain about prompt tables Peoplesoft HRMS.

Ans: Prompt tables are associated with fields on PeopleSoft application pages. When a user selects a prompt or search option, the information from prompt tables will be displayed as valid data values. The data in prompt tables are retrieved from control tables and transaction tables.

Ans: To enter address information and regulatory reporting information, we can define distinct physical places of business called establishments. The establishments should be consistent with the regulatory requirements of business operations.
 
27. Define Frequency IDs.
Ans: To define periods in which compensation is quoted, people are paid, etc., we use frequency IDs. They are defined in the Frequency Table component (FREQUENCY_TBL). They are mostly used in  PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Resources, Global Payroll, and Payroll for North America. Each frequency ID has a frequency type and annualization factor which defines the number of times the period occurs in a year.
 
28. How is the Geographic location code different from locations?
Ans: Location is a table where all the office locations of an organization are defined. A location is tied to a company, setID, and a department. A Geographic location is specific to the State-City code. The locality pay percentages are calculated based on the geographic location code and used in the US payroll process.
